Berkey water purifiers are the world’s most powerful and economical personal water purification filter for everyday at home and emergency use.

By themselves they don’t alkalize water but by Adding alkalizing minerals (Maifan stones) and bio-ceramic energy balls to the bottom reservoir of your Berkey unit it will! This will convert your Berkey into an Alkaline Water Filter and may increase your water’s pH by as much as 100%  (pH is measured on a logarithmic scale, so for example a pH of 7 rising to 8 is a 100% increase).

The stones are only $43.95 dollars, weigh 600 grams (1.3 pounds), and will last 2 – 3 years. This means you can have your own purifier / alkaline water system producing healthful water for about half a cent / litre.

Many clients prefer the taste of mineralized Berkey water over ‘regular’ Berkey water.  We also have several clients reporting significant improvements in the taste of their well water with the addition of these mineral stones.

How to Make Alkaline Water?

Place these Santevia alkalizing minerals in the bottom reservoir of your Berkey unit or glass water dispenser. The naturally occurring Maifan stones infuse highly beneficial and absorbable calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc into the water. The stones continually release these easily absorbed ionized minerals into your water.  Tourmaline in the stones increases the waters pH to alkaline.  Bio-ceramic energy balls break water molecule clusters into smaller structures for greater bio-availability and emit the beneficial far-infrared light spectrum, energizing the water. 

Bio-ceramic:  Produced by combining various minerals and heating them at very high temperatures (1600 degrees C), in this case, the main mineral is Tourmaline which increases the waters pH to alkaline.

Energy balls:  Create a physical reaction, not a chemical reaction. Potential negative ions are produced by the weak ionization from the link between the magnesium and water.

Bio-availability:  The extent to which a nutrient can be used by the body.

Far-infrared light:  The most beneficial infrared segment of the sun’s invisible electromagnetic spectrum is FAR: 5.6-1000 mm (microns). A narrow spectrum between 4 to 14 microns has been shown to have particularly beneficial effects on the body, in particular, stimulating the bodies healing processes. NASA discovered that minerals could also generate FAR waves.

Testing done at Cantest Laboratories in Burnaby, BC indicates the following beneficial mineral concentrations (parts per million) present in 1 liter of alkaline mineral water.

Calcium (Ca) 5.91 mg/L
Iron (Fe) 0.06 mg/L
Magnesium (Mg) 0.65 mg/L
Potassium (K) 0.2 mg/L
Zinc (Zn) 0.016 mg/L

These results will vary of course with the mineral content of the source water.

The stones should be boiled in water for 5 minutes every 3 months. This will sterilize them.
